hello everyone! we have decided to revive this blog! we being sam jo, elly, poon, kopi, xtine and me.

we're at my house now and we just had a very successful sleepover, probably because everyone actually slept -.-

haha! ok this elly! we are now deciding where to go for breakfast. where shall we go for breakfast??

hahaha elly's funny actually there was once i imagined the girls in our class in ocs too and i saw yingsze being the garang one and elly the ditzy but very fit one haha oh well i cant believe it's over just like that. something about yesterday and seeing familiar class faces there on the parade square...very nice and warm feeling. anyway, thanks jean for your house- it's very breezy and healthy i had a lot of fun sleeping! ok i shall stop here for now cuz we're rushing out for BREAKFAST! Seriously how are all of you doing?
Someone just asked me in camp whether I actually meet up with my classmates- stay in touch and all. I was so proud to say that I saw you guys at Holland V and K Box over the May break. But I really hope it doesnt stop there. I wish we could turn back time and do it all over again- but something tells me that socializing as non-students is what's gonna make our bond so much more special.

This is really an exiciting time of the year. The best month approaching and all. But of course- people flying off to faraway places that are the destination of their dreams. I really hope that we still see each other through the rest of our crazy lives- where we're gonna go, who we're gonna be and become, what we're gonna get up to, do, try and succeed or even fail, and how we're gonna show that those two short years weren't for nothing.

In the meantime I hope to hangout with as many of you as possible. Seriously. Before we all fly off into the future and get lost in the crowd- I suppose even a simple movie would do, especially when time's a bitch now. I miss them good old days of the Devil Wears Prada and War of the Worlds. Top of my list now reads Spiderman 3- I suppose that's really backdated for those of you that actually have lives on weekdays and most weekends. To further emphasize how out of touch I am, when Xtine smsed me the other week- I had no idea that The Wind That Shakes The Barley was a movie, not an art exhibition piece. Yes okay I thank you not. But you know, tell me if you havent caught it! Spiderman 2 still ranks strongly on my favourite movie list- so I cannot miss it! Sigh.

Have I ever told any of you that before Ashlee, there were two others. First it was Michelle. She got me through Sec 3. With her I could Breathe, and her voice was Everywhere to me. But the one who really helped me through Sec 4 was none other than Avril. Avril pulled me out of the most Complicated of times, and helped me realize that My Happy Ending was for me to decide. Today she has returned with possibly the most poppiest of songs in recent music history- much too candylike for a lotta pple but heck, it's Avril my friends- and she's got some attitude while getting sexier at that. I confess, I profess- I like.

Hello im at work now. i love my job! im at ducktours with lulu.. my friend from a01sth. haha cant rmb which class. ah zul's class. anyway ahh!!! i am v v happy!

but my work today is quite boring but i dont care i love my job. i dont have to use brains and i like my pay and its in suntec and i go toilet a lot and i can eat lunch w lulu so this is perfect.

my table is v big but the stupid cpu is v near my legs. so i tried to be smart and rearranged it but i ended up plugging out the entire monitor and mouse. then i panicked for a while cos its my first day then i alr create such havoc. but i was a lot smarter still and i managed to plug everything back without anyone noticing!

i just realised there's a camera aimed at me. good job elly.

the only bad thing is that the pantry is very far away from my table. im v v hungry.

and omg i am going to die. my supervisor and boss just came over and smiled happily at me. then the supervisor girl looked at the taskbar and saw "blogger". another good job elly.

hello everybody, thought i'd blog before i went off to the wonderful resort island off the northeast of singapore.

even though i did say "天下无不散之宴席" (which means there is no banquet that never ends for pple like pek whose chinese cannot make it), what i meant was that we can never ever go back to those two years of jc life, where we attended lectures together (for pple like hanyi, at least in body if not in spirit), had fun in tutorials together, spent maths lect on thurs between 10 and 11 deciding where to go out for lunch afterwards and had such great fun together... so even though we can never ever go back to being 1a01a and 2a01a again, hopefully we will still meet up often for class parties, badminton/tennis/soccer, kbox, outings to minds cafe and all.

ok im going to go defend the nation now. hopefully some of us guys will meet each other on tekong haha. for the girls, have fun wherever you are working.

hello everybahdee!!! sawadee! guess who's back to the notsoverysunny island of singapore! no not kwa beng suan (anw he's the power98 hero. ask samjo). yeap im back from italy and france! and no i did not have the pleasure of meeting elly there (managed to avoid her stalking. haha kidding! see its in PARENTHESIS)

anw europe was great. a totally new experience for this country bumpkin whose furthest destination had only been langkawi or pulau bulakwang menoa (which ever is further). oh i rmb there was the us last yr ha. anw the pple there are really different. things are slower. they are more...relac. they dun complain as much not as kaypoh as us. but the best way to see the real italy and france is...no not from lonely planet. but their subways! my dad got pickpocketed twice. apparently it is so commonplace there that in spore we have no eating/drinking signs and the sila amil berhatian demi iskandakan anda...they have "BEWARE of pickpockets!". pple crawl beneath/jump over the turnstiles (nobody pays on buses too). saw one drunkard collapse. saw 2 drunk brawls. and there was this one stripper who did a strip tease on the train begging for money. he was a guy -.- (damn) but its not that havoc there la. the trains still run on time. streets are nice and clean. no flooding one hor. (haha shumin is 6 john road flooded?)

ok very mugger but must say this. the whole trip was like a walking history trip. doesnt help that we mugged italian unification and french rev outside in and inside out. so below is the guy that led his thousand and unified southern italy. gary baldy btw. saw him in pisa. didnt seem too friendly and refused to get off his ridiculous platform.

and for those who mugged their asses off for sats world history and still ended up guessing half of it...below is the "flying buttresses" of gothic cathedrals. that's notredame btw. the day we were there it was cloudy and gloomy and drizzly...ooh! perfecto.

and then there was versailles where marie antoinette stayed and where the treaty of guess what VERSAILLES was signed and where...
lauyeeler checked his hair and snapped a photo of himself.

ok enough of history. time to move on to pictures! here are some of your must-have tourist shots.

ok enuf of uploading...better move on to the italians/frenchies and english (i mean the language). no wait. the two dun go together and that was the problem. my arsenal of je m'appelle tres tres hamsum, je ne parlez pas francais, bise vous, voulez vous couchez avec moi was embarrassingly inadequate and i did tried the russell peters hand to mouth thing. didn't work. they are racialist (oh when are we sneaking into borat. no not INTO him. i mean the movie) i tell you. you hear a string of french den "ah-see-ans" (asians) den shake head shake head den glare. haha not that fierce but along those lines. at first it was alright...u just learn to shut up and use sign language. den it came to ordering your meals. hoho! ggxx.com.sg i mean ggxx.com.fr

you noe the mr bean episode where he stuffed his food in all sorts of places...its the same thing! looks gross but not bad la

alright...saving the best for the last. the ladies can take a break and this a treat for you guys. the football stadiums! haha. i went to stadio olimpico...

and it was so unlucky that the day we left rome was the day the stadium hosted the rome derby between roma and lazio. sian diaozzzzz

and specially for narfman...stadio comunale artemio franchi. for the layman...that's fiorentina's stadium. and sorry narf. no bati statue inside.

this place is STARVED of updates so here's one!

havent been checking my email lately and thus was actually nice to see the email chain started by daryl, making post prelim plans haha. angee's reply was really funny. kinda shows how studying screws us up big time. i think we've all had our fair share of 'exam nightmares', like how xtine dreamt of failing lit (which will not come true duh) and how i dreamt that math paper was invigilated by mr purvis and then interrupted and nullified and we had to sit for it all over again.

anw i just wanna express gratitude to this great class once more. i think i take a lot of things for granted and there are times i feel so alone, esp mugging late at night, but you guys always put a smile on my face somehow so to that i say, thank you india!

so many funny moments this week. huanna spitting all his drink on poor zhifeng cuz of some joke in the canteen hahahah. and then yingsze walking into canteen with her 'hunk' harem. and yeeler and HIS harem. hanyi asking what's prada. shumin saying "there's only one perky thing in class. yee ler's ass"... and all the little things which i picked up along the way. you guys are brilliant you know that.

thanks for the devil wears prada today! angee why wont you there? anw was a good show wasnt it? hanyi wldve totally connected it to heart of darkness.

macdonalds lunch was also laidback and a good way to unwind. and then dilly-DALI-ing around. and then xiao long pao-ing before going to the american club. it was a kind end to a rough week so thanks for being there!

i dont know what else to say. except maybe it sucks that rockstar is over. dilana rocks on, people.

someone had to do this! i just wanna thank this class for being so random and amazing no matter what the others say. there's always something to look forward to when one thinks of school.

the village school is the two buildings you see on the left. the big patch of sand on the right is where we play football everyday. its seriously like a desert, after it rains the sand is still dry.

beautiful sunset. too bad there were clouds. if you look really really closely, you can see singapore in the background. at night when you just sit at the jetty and gaze in this direction, you can see the lights of the CBD and the planes landing and taking off at Changi.

been away in batam with poon for the last week and when i came back yesterday, i was immediately told by hanyi to check out the class blog... anyway i shall just tell you about my trip and ignore everything else.

the main purpose of the trip was obviously to do some cip by teaching some of the kids at a village school english, but i think we didn't really achieve as much as we hoped to, because it's just so hard to teach english, especially when most of us couldn't speak Malay. and it was obvious that the kids at the village that we went to weren't really that deprived, cos the villagers had colour televisions and the kids had guitars and a samsung camera phone. oh and there was also this p5 kid that rode a motorcycle to the school everyday. damn cool.

anyway the best part of the whole trip was that i could just escape from all the stress and the hectic life in spore and the impending common test. it was like going back in time to your childhood and spending the whole time playing games and not worrying about common tests and SATS. and now im like chao-tar from playing football everyday at the school on this pitch that was more like a desert rather than a football field, but it was damn fun and the indonesian kids are damn pro, but of course we were much better. did other cool stuff like skipping stones at the beach, playing with the kids at the kelong and trying to fly kites. its just so sad that all of us are growing up so quickly and becoming adults, and we have lost the innocence that we had as kids, when we could just do nothing but fool around and have fun.

another thing that we did on the trip was to walk out to this jetty at our resort and just sit down to watch the sun set together. there was this heart of darkness moment when we were sitting at the jetty and talking when melody (one of the interactors that went on the trip) just started telling us about her experiences in cambodia, just like how Marlow was talking about his journey to the Congo on the Nellie and the rest of us just sat there and listened to her. k nvm, i must be damn sad, doing nothing but thinking about lit texts. it was just so peaceful and relaxing, we should try to do this together as a class, after As or something like that.

must be quite boring reading my incoherent thoughts on the batam trip not knowing what actually happened, but i just had to let that all out, cos i'm still wishing i was back in batam playing with the kids and not sitting down here in front of my computer putting off doing rolly's essay. the trip was a meaningful one for me and a reminder that there are things in life that are more important than just studying.

hellooo this is a hair-raising (literally) story of a revolution (i.e. a 180degree change) hahaha. with visual aids!

alright so we start with yeeler sitting in the hairdresser's chair, still looking comfortably pleased with himself, as if he has no idea what is in store for him. but he does!

and this is where he starts to get scared hahaha so smallboy

even though the return trip made me think real hard about things,

ok listen to me i am going to defend myself against horrible ramu's slanderous claims!!

we were playing truth or dare, and stupid huahua just HAAAAD to choose dare. and the dare was that he used his lips to touch my ear. it was a very painful and ticklish affair, but thankfully it was over in less than 2seconds. it was not, i repeat, NOT, steamy or anything bile-inducing of the sort! i think if we had not all been under the influence of too many carlsbergs and other random alcoholic drinks this would never have happened!

hi all.
was typing out "wewantbreakfast" on the email address bar and suddenly an image of us back in the earlier days of this year flashed before my very eyes. the tennis court. playing some catchball thing with black cloth. coming up with our first cheer.
tomorrow is the last day of school. this was the last week. yet it didnt feel like it. i mean, nobody was really in the mood for lessons anyway, for those who even bothered to come.
i guess all im saying is its been such great fun being in this class. our lives have just flown by and if we sit back and reflect, its kinda surreal that promos are already over. sitting in math lect listening to ms chen talk today abt us not having any holidays next year is really scary, but unfortunately, kinda true.
how many such parties will we have again. frankly, half of our stay here is over.
im kinda indignant abt jc doing this to us. what is two years anyway? peanuts and a cause for heartbreak.
i guess, some things never change. we're still as greedy as ever, always munching on a thing or two, like yingsze and huanna's secret locker stash of rice crackers, the fake oreos, bubble tea, mingkee etc, with the latest being choco cookies initiated by trix. - but we can never return to that tennis court again. we can, only make new memories.
and because each little thing we do adds on to our really short but precious memory of the class, i must apologize if at times i was the cause/root of any tension. i believe i was on more than one occasion, and this is something that, as i was telling angie the other day, i regret the very next minute after losing some form of control. for that and all, i'm sorry. i hope noone took anything personally- because it never was.
ok got that off my chest. i dont know what i'll do now. next year we will be really busy with our own lives, i really hope we continue to look out for each other. little groupings have formed but i hope we still stay cohesive as a class. cooperation sounds so much better than competition.
good luck with everything to come. it has been a most exciting school year. cant wait for j2, yet i fret it at the same time. what lies ahead, who knows? but im glad im gonna find it out with a bunch of pple like you. till then, i am me.

Hello!! This is Christine's first time blogging on wewantbreakfast. We are doing pw and it is very boring. Anybody want to know about relevance of civil unions to the current social situation in singapore? Haha, shumin and I just read Huanna's entry on Pulau Ubin. Daryl is very upset that a little ride on a lorry cost them their championship title. He claims, "This is so typically Singaporean lah, cheat a bit also cannot. Think out of the box what. So stifling." HAHAHA. Sinni (which means here in malay) is sleeping and shumin is looking at halloween costume ideas of which include 'Nudists on Strike' which sounds like something a big group of clever lazy people who want to muscle in on some 31st oct fun would like.

Today, shumin learnt the number for canadian pizza, significant as the 241s are, and along with Daryl and Sinni they learnt my address.

Last week of the year starts tomorrow. It's been a good year, let's end it by going winter clothes shopping.

Hello hello! I am not a bug. Anyway, we should all go Pulau Ubin one day, it's so rustic and seems so totally anachronistic after living forever in urban areas- but that's where the beauty is!

ODAC's adventure race was very fun and we were supposed to get first but the organisers did not like us trying to be too smart and gave us time penalty for hitching rides on lorry. Our team had me, zenger, poon xuhui and tricia (who couldn't make it cos she was sick!) And of course our facilitator who encouraged us to cheat: smElly.

After running around ubin we just slacked at this old style kopi store which of course brought out the kopi boy in kopi boy. Sipping pseudo tiger beer and tsingtaos (actually green tea in tiger beer and tsingtao glasses) and listening to 60s oldies playing in the background is just such a soothing experience. You can just watch time slow down and the world go by.

We also managed to hitch rides, my first ever hitchhiking experience! It was on this old smelly lorry but the uncle was very kind and let us hop on and we stood and felt the wind in our hairs. Of course taller people like me and poon had to be wary of low branches which threatened to decapitate us as the lorry zoomed past with us standing upright on it. Elly had no such worries understandably.

We also met with a bunch tanglin sec people who were having this amateur biking lesson on pulau ubin and we (me rather) had a run in with them, but there was no love lost.

Rambo was station master and he helped us abit hehe. Constructed a hammock using some knots which rambo taught us and we dumped smelly in it.

Although we clocked in the fastest timing, we were deemed to have cheated by hitching a ride so we got related to 3rd place which wasn't too bad, except when you consider the fact that prizes were awarded to the top 2 teams. But all is well! We were very happy to have hitchhiked anyway, and we we still had a sumptious dinner at Changi Village kopitiam where kopi once again felt right at home. We were abit worried about the transexuals who would prowl the place when night falls but we were lucky to avert such meetings, although i accidentally called the drinks stall auntie an uncle.

13A had a no guys team which came in a very commendable second. Humans people are just good la, can't be helped.

In conclusion, i think that pulau ubin is very fun and cheap (cool sampan ride cost $2 inclusive of sea breeze) and bike rental with advanced gear transmission set us only a mere $3 back. This is the REAL island life, love it! We should all go there one day together, and try to find the elusive wild boar which i failed to spot this time. Lastly, Famous Five + smelly are the best group even though we cheated.

1. although some of them are tomboyish on the outside (like constantly trying to call you by boxing your arms really hard), they are quite girly and sweet at heart.

2. they teach you rubbish like pillay! like its the most exciting word on earth.

3. first time in my life that i've heard anyone say i gg already.

4. instead of handouts they say literature paraphernalia.

5. fail is a low A

6. the guys take much longer to change than the girls

7. they use biceps to represent conflict between countries

8. they are dangerous. they can shoot, poke you with a weapon, and slam balls into your face.

9. they give you a spiffing abs workout with their antics.

10. they leave their traces all over LT tables.

haha ok i know some of the above have specific references to certain people. in the name of fun, don't take offence to any of those!

i just want to say thank you to some of you for listening to me the past week, calming me down, drawing up emergency study plans for me and bringing me back to what's most important. you know who you are and it really means a lot to me. there are just some points in time where you're stuck going round in circles. and i'm glad i got that sorted out already. if you don't know what i'm talking about at all, thank you for just being part of 1A, part of the class that makes me smile in one way or another. hearts <3

silas, chapter 8 :) i intend to finish part 1 by the end of the hols, and i'm halfway there! yippeee!

no i don't think i intend to do french rev. sigh. it really is too massive. realised tt for hist i'm relying a lot of topics we haven't covered yet (ie, new imperialism and nuclear arms race) and tt's kinda dangerous right? but crisis of communism, which incidentally comprises SIX lecture notes, is insanely long and i haven't been listening so am v reluctant to cover tt.

things i will do this holiday (ooh ambitious ambitious):

1. do silas journal up to chapter 15
2. market structures
3. unification of italy and germany
4. maybe math hehe.

chances are, i'll never make it to 3 and 4, but hope springs eternal, and we have 2.5weeks between promos and end of hols so i shall not let myself dive into pessimism :D

having worked (more or less consistently...more or LESS) since 8am, i have 2 chapters of silas marner to show for it. yippee.

i'm SO inefficient. and i feel cockeyed now after ploughing left right centre through those 2 chapters, which i feel certain i know almost by heart now. to make matters worse, a small voice in my head is telling me i wasn't as thorough as i could've been in my analysis, but rest assured i am trying to strangle it to death now.

will definitely do something else tmr. grr. need a change of scene. the night is still young but tt's the sort of effect silas has on u - u just wanna go take a nap.

i hope in all sincerity that the rest of u have been more productive than i have.
